The 5th Major Golf Tournament
9th - 12th March 2023
THE PLAYERS Championship is one of the most prestigious events on the PGA Tour. It is held every year at the iconic TPC Sawgrass near Jacksonville in Florida.
It is commonly known as the '5th Major' due to the high quality field that assembles there. Of course, the drama of the top players hitting to the most infamous par 3 in the world (the island green 17th) adds to the appeal of the tournament.
The golf course was closed during the second half of 2016 for a partial redesign, including making the 12th into a short driveable par 4 with water. After the cancellation of the 2020 event before round 2 golfers will be looking forward to the return of the 5th Major.
