Since its inauguration in 2006, The Abu Dhabi Championship has become one of the flagship events on the Persian Gulf leg of the European Tour.

Having been contested over the Championship course of the Abu Dhabi Golf Club for a number of years the event is set to move to Yas links for 2022. The tournament attracts the Elite golfers of the European Tour and boasts an illustrious list of past champions and runner ups including Ricky Fowler, Martin Kaymer, Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson.

Your Golf Travel’s Chief Holiday Officer, Lee Westwood, won the 2020 event claiming his 25th title on The European Tour. He held off a chasing pack containing Tommy Fleetwood, France’s Victor Perez, who both closed with 9-under par rounds of 63 and one of Yorkshire’s finest in Matt Fitzpatrick.
