Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club

In 1998 the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington golf clubs aligned to form a new club. Both the East and West courses have been a host for the Joburg Open, with some of the best players competing it out to take home the title.

Glendower Golf Course

Established in 1935, forming a 18-hole parkland layout, the club then embarked a major upgrade program in 1989, improving the facilities of the club to then see Glendower host the South African Open on multiple occasions.

Game Reserves

Around the Johannesburg and Limpopo area is plenty of incredible Big 5 game reserves, Madikwe Game Reserve is one to certainly highlight as it’s the fifth biggest reserve in South Africa and home to all the Big 5 animals. The reserve also has a top option for a luxury safari lodge to stay on site. Pilanesberg Game Reserve is situated very close to Sun City, and is undoubtedly one of the most diverse safari parks near Johannesburg.

History Attractions

Johannesburg has a rich history, with a few attractions that are definitely worth visiting for a very humbling and eye opening experience. Constitution Hill is one of South Africa’s most important historical site, once a notorious prison, now replaced by the Constitutional Court, with tours available on the hour for essential context. The Apartheid Museum is a must too, illustrating the rise and fall of South Africa’s era of segregation and oppression, for a chilling insight into the apartheid system.

The Sun City Resort is recognised for its 2 outstanding championship golf courses, with the Gary Player Country Club hosting the Nedbank Golf Challenge on the European Tour on an annual basis.
