0800 043 6644St Mellion is arguably the premier golfing destination in the South-West, boasting two championship courses, and has welcomed the European Tour's elite on no less than six occasions for the Benson and Hedges International.
Opened in 1987, the Nicklaus Course at St Mellion was the Golden Bear's first project in the UK, and to this day Jack rates it as one of his best creations. The £2.5 million investment now complete was overseen by the Nicklaus design team.
From the championship tee markers the course measures 7,019 yards and is a thorough examination, but there are tees to suit golfers of all abilities. The Nicklaus is typical of its designer's architectural ethos, with a premium being placed on finding the correct position from the elevated tees in order to attack the flags. Inaccuracy will be punished severely by the strategically positioned bunkers and water hazards around this South-Western gem.

Did you know? Jack Nicklaus speaks highly of his design, going as far as to say St Mellion is 'potentially the finest golf course in Europe'.
Formerly known as the Old Course, St Mellion's Kernow is often in the shadow of Jack Nicklaus' creation next door, but it is a fine championship layout in its own right. Though not particularly long by modern standards - the Kernow measures 5,782 yards - there is no shortage of challenge and intrigue.
A major face-lift has seen the addition of new lakes and bunkers, plus some totally rebuilt putting surfaces. Spectacular scenery surrounds the course, whose highlights include the short 12th, where the green is guarded closely by water, and the memorable par-4 closing hole which demands two excellent strikes.

Great experience thankyou
Excellent from the moment we arrived. Well organized and staff so friendly and helpful.
Rooms were well decorated and bed was large and comfortable. Shower and all facilities were all excellent.
stayed in a superior twin over looking the 18th, perfect.
Great People
No booking on nicklaus but they managed to squeeze us in
The hotel and room were satisfactory. We upgraded our room to a Signature room but it had limited resources. No fridge, small kettle for tea and coffee making, no glass or cup in the bathroom. It seems everything could have been removed due to Covid, but nothing put back.
Good points Organisation Rooms Bad points It was club championship weekend Sat round was over 5 hours We were not finished in time for our scheduled restaurant slot and then staff made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Despite the club house being fairly empty on Sunday afternoon we could not all order food when we finished and food that was provided was sun standard and over priced
Great place to go,both golf courses were in great condition. The staff at st Mellion were fantastic nothing was too much for them
Ideally located hotel in a lovely part of the country.
The surroundings are lovely. The hotel is nice. Our room sadly overlooked the car park. If you can get a room overlooking the 18th green. I’m guessing they’re more airy. Room was ok but nothing special. Might need some upgrading.
The room was lovely, the shower was great. The air conditioning was ok.
The staff were friendly and helpful at all times, the hotel room was ideal clean and exceeded expectations.
all relatively good bathroom is a bit tired
Stayed before in the bungalows but this time in the Turret Lodges, not ideal for all male groups as one twin bed room and one bunk bedded room obviously designed for children.
Staff friendly helpful throughout. Accommodation comfortable. Package dinner menu same for both nights which was disappointing
We booked our break through Your Golf Travel with James who sorted everything out for us. He was great from start to finish and even after us having to rebook for the past 2 years it was worth the wait. The staff at St Mellion were all brilliant, waiters, waitresses, spa team and of course golf shop team. Would definitely recommend booking through your golf travel if ever you want to find somewhere to go for a break! Thanks again to you all and will be speaking to James again soon when we book our next break.
Great location, Nicholas course fantastic only issue was perhaps the greens which had recently been treated.
Clean and comfortable rooms. Good food. Fantastic helpful staff including the pro shop staff (the staff clinched it for us ladies)
Hotel was tired looking. Needs a tidy up to be a 4 star. Stagg were friendly but refused to show the rugby international for about 50 people. Put a dampened in what was a good trip.
great value for money, was very cheap for the package we got
Hotel was under staffed especially the bars and restaurant but all the Staff were very polite, considering there were big groups of golfers the restaurant staff and manager made sure we was looked after. Food quality & choices was very good.
The food was fantastic and very well organised.
The one thing that let the scores down is the general apathy of the staff. I felt there was little to no interaction from the reception or restaurant staff, Another major problem was lacking of seating in the bar .Two of our party had to stand for the whole of the evening . This certainly impacted my scores.
Very good room, excellent food, if there was a deficiency it was with the management of the golf bar - probably due to inexperienced staff ie beer ran out one day !!!, mistakes with drinks, long delays.
Great hotel, good food, well worth a visit
Great accommodation very roomy clean if a bit tired, friendly staff and good food, remember to take a torch for the walk back to the cottages as no lights whatsoever.
Reception modern, staff friendly, dinner very good, however the corridors leading to bedrooms are shabby, the bedrooms are tired and our bathroom needed a compete overhaul. It’s a very ‘blokey’ place catering for huge Societies and not a place for couples.
Real disappointment. The staff are great but not enough of them. The rooms are 2 come 3 star, not 4 star. The corridor carpets tired. Long waits for food and drink. Breakfast buffet is a farce. Big societies so lack of food, and very cramped area to serve yourself. The cold buffet should be switched round. Think st mellion has decided to focus on big societies and low standards. Shame
Amazing room with balcony overlooking the championship 18th green. Super clean and tidy and comfortable. Pillows a bit cheap and thin bring your own.
Lovely room, felt slightly better than average but it was a superior room with a balcony overlooking the 18th green. Evening meals were absolutely fantastic as was the service but breakfast was average at best. Bar was nice although could have done with more staff on as was often slow.
Only 4 stars for the hotel / Room as it needs a revamp, but it was absolutely spotless
The bedroom as clean, large and well facilitated. The shower was amazing. Disappointed no bottle water
Hotel is tired, particularly the bathroom, which was tired, grout missing on floor tiles, and being a wetroom, this means the tiles are lifting off the floor, and the wooden bathroom door and door frame mouldy and rotting. Uncomfortable Small Single Bed in Twin rooms (e.g. Celtic Manor or Belfry offer oversized single or double beds). Bar undermanned (possible staffing issues?) so often had to wait to be served. Staff were polite and friendly, however, a couple had mentioned they didn’t enjoy working at St Mellion and were looking for (or had obtained) alternative employment - which to me, reflects the poor standard of St Mellion and the Management team. Pool and Sauna was open, but steam room, hot tub and spa were closed (defective???). Breakfast was average to poor (cheap quality sausages and bacon), lots of flies around the cereal, pastries and croissants area (no obvious blue zappy bug lights). Evening meals were to a good (bot great) standard but the menu was basic with 4 choices of starter/main/desert, but only 1 of these which was suitable for Vegetarians (not that I am, i’m just merely sharing my observation). Appreciate that Cornwall is a pain to get to (4-5hrs from London) but with so many alternate venues in the UK, there was nothing ‘special’ to warrant a return to the resort.
Rims was a little tired and would have benefited from a redecorate / refurb. All the staff were professional, friendly and very efficient. Bar was light, bright and welcoming Food I. The restaurant was very good, breakfast was a bit “confused” - mainly due to layout and 2 or 3 big groups at once.
On arrival, after a 5 hour drive, we were informed that the restaurant was fully booked so we could not have breakfast, we asked to have coffee at the bar whilst waiting for out tee time and were told we couldn't do this either, rather odd. We stayed in two lodges, which were sufficient for our needs, but very very dated. This hotel as a whole needs a few quid spent on it to bring it up to the 4* it claims to be. Staff very friendly, but not enough of them.
The staff were very good and friendly. The food was very good so where the rooms.we had an excellent weekend
Booked for many years with YGT but unfortunately dont think I will book again, no food at restaurant and pub we got taken to wasn't that accommodating. Not only that been promised free balls for our group for the last 2 years and not had any, for the amount we spend its a little disappointing.
Very disappointed. Still waiting to hear the outcome of our complaints. Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna - all out of action! One of the main reasons we stayed here. Weren’t allowed to eat on site - another reason we booked to stay here. Understaffed all three days so the queues at the bar/lunch cafe were massive and the service was cold and miserable The lady on reception on our first day was abrupt and rude. Such a shame because it was a key part of our trip. The rooms were also damp and full of insects
Very disappointing!! We were informed on checking in that the hotel would not be serving dinner during our stay - even although we had paid for a golf, B&B and dinner package. We were handed a list of local restaurants and taxi numbers and had to sort things out ourselves!! As this situation had been ongoing for a few weeks YGT should have contacted us to inform us.
The hotel and staff were very good. However there is a disappointment in that this was a golf, DINNER, bed and breakfast deal and upon checking in at 7pm after a hot round of golf, I was told that there was dinner and someone from Your Golf Travel should have already informed me. So at present, I've paid for dinner and not had any, and had to fork out extra expense for dinner in the evening and the public transport to get to it, and thus far no one from YGT has replied to my email or tweet.
Stopped in lodge's great location but real could do with a upgrade but clean would and will return
Well where do I start 🤷🏻♂️ Not enough staff apparently so both evening meals we were loaded into a 16 seater bus & taken to local pub 10 minutes away. Service there was good. ST Mellion offered us £100 per table, anything over that we had to pay ourselves. Service at ST Mellion was very poor. Waited for 45 min for a got or cold drink day one, day two was a bit better. One group decided enough was enough & decided to go to local cafe. Bar staff on the evening had no idea, painfully slow. Pre booked electric trollies & received email confirming this, got there & no trollies booked for us. So our guys had to have a push trollies or buggy. Both golf courses however are just fantastic no complaints there. Courses 9/10 Service 2/10 Staff in isolation is not what anyone wants to hear. It just took the shine of a great trip. Don’t like to complain but just saying it how it was. Many others felt the same. 🤷🏻♂️
The courses were superb and we had an excellent visit. It’s a shame that the hotel has difficulty in providing dinner due to lack of staff and the hotel staff could try a lot harder to make up for their troubles.
Excellent
Hotel was nice. A very corporate feel to it but overall it was a fantastic golf resort. The staff in the pro shop are probably the best I've ever encountered. The staff in the bar were slow but they were all young kids.
Difficult due to restrictions but as it was good
Staff friendly and very helpful!
Very nice hotel but starting to look tired
lovely rooms overlooking the 18th green, staff were great in dealing with the current covid issues and looked after us brilliantly, will definitely be back.
An enjoyable 2 day stay St Mellion resort, the room was simple but comfortable, staff very helpful , and the food was delicious. Challenging golf on the Nicklaus course!
Hotel nice staff friendly Bars and food good, Unfortunately we had to arrange meal times and book buggies and pick-up what Your Golf Travel had not organised for us, despite the whole idea of going through a company to arrange your break for you. This was disappointing and our next trip will not be with Your Golf Travel. We felt that the driving range was very sparse and poorly equipped and a good 10 minute walk from the hotel the local public course has palace like facilities in comparison.
very comfortable and friendly staff.
The hotel was very well managed in these current times. The Staff were very helpful and waited on my party very well. The rooms were very clean and tidy.
Upgraded rooms with a lovely view over the 18th. Staff where really good . Food was okay
Really nice food and good service from hotel staff Rooms were clean and nice no problems
Good food choices given Covid and decent breakfast - Adam, bar manager was brilliant and should be highly commended for his great service.
Given the difficult times we had a wonderful stay felt very safe and were looked after very well. We will definitely return. All the staff were happy and friendly and went out of their way to reach out to you.
Disappointed with food in restaurant-staff terrific!
Stay at the hotel was first class.
Clean, comfortable, food and service was excellent ,
Hotel and facilities excellent
An upgrade to a Superior room with view on the golf course is recommanded. Very Nice and helpful staf in hotel as in the golfshop.
We had a great time, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and room very nice
My sons loved their weekend for a 30th birthday gift, food was very good, accommodation excellent. They are planning to go back on a yearly brother get together!!
Just a fabulous place with great staff
We returned to St Mellion after previous tour 4 yrs ago. The golf and pro shop staff were very obliging and helpful. The courses were both in pretty good condition and as tough as ever! The actual hotel unfortunately was in our opinion below par and not a 4 star establishment. Uncomfortable beds that make premier Inns positively ultra deluxe. A la crate restaurant with shortages of wine on both nights and a disappointing menu taboot. We discussed with the management and a price adjustment was agreed. We will not be placing review on trip advisor as that is not our style. Like so many of my school reports read, Tries hard but so much potential left wanting Mr Stewart Barnett
Good resort hotel and able to take a booking where all the group wanted single rooms. Food excellent on both evenings served by attentive staff. Hotel needs better signage as it is so easy to get confused/lost around the complex.
Hotel was perfectly situated within very short walk from the car park and to the 1st Tees at the Nicklaus and Kernow courses. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Hotel room was very clean and tidy. Food in the restaurant and bar was excellent.
Staff were great, we stayed in a twin room, the single bed was very small and rock hard mattress, apart from that great resort.
Could not have asked for a better place to go. The hotel was immaculate, the staff friendly and helpful, the food delicious and the room (top floor overlooking the golf course) great. What more could you want. Just wish I had taken the swimsuit to enjoy the spa.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good and service was swift. Only slight change would be that the 3 of us found the beds too hard.
just exceptional all round.
Wonderful views. reception staff were welcoming and helpful. The food was superb. Great pool area to wind down in after our round. The only criticism was the hotel felt a little bit tired with creaky floors in the accommodation part of the hotel.
Best value for money golf trip I've ever been on hotel and rooms spotless staff could not do enough for you

I organised for 2 societies to go to St Mellion (32 people altogether) to play against each other on both the Kernow and Nicklaus courses. Overall the courses were in good condition although the tees on the Nicklaus were looking a bit tired.

The rooms were good and the food was good too and I didn't have any complaints from the lads. Unfortunately the cost of drinks in the bar was a bit steep, but after a few tend not to worry about it!

Members of staff in hotel and pro shop were friendly and helpful and all things considered, it's an ideal place for a weekend golf break.

Thanks to Your Golf Travel who managed to quickly get it all booked up. Overall everything ran smoothly and would recommend you to mates.

We recently returned from our second visit to the St Mellion resort. This complex is a great place to visit whether you play golf or not, as there is plenty to do and see. The Kernow course is a lovely parkland course set in rolling countryside with great views. The quality of the fairways and greens is excellent and the course marshals ensure that the pace of play is never too slow.

The Hotel is of a very high standard too, and prices are very reasonable compared to other resorts that I have stayed in. The service was excellent with friendly and speedy members of staff who never kept you waiting for food or drinks. The quality of food and variety meant that there was a choice for everyone, including veggie options. Unlike a few other resorts that we have visited there was not a separate menu for guests visiting on a golf holiday and very few supplements to pay.

I would certainly recommend a golf break at St Mellion and will be going back for a third visit hopefully later in the year. 10/10

I would like to thank everyone at yourgolftravel.com for helping me organize our trip to St Mellion.

The Hotel was stunning and all the staff were very helpful indeed. The pro in the golf shop even gave us a tour of the place and gave us good advice on how you tackle the golf courses.

All twelve of us thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would love to return back one day to take on the Nicklaus course once more.

We would certainly recommend St Mellion to other golfers and would do so for all different size groups & societies.

Julie and I really enjoyed our stay at St Mellion, where all the staff in the hotel and golf course were helpful and very friendly. The food was excellent too, with plenty of choice from the menu. The room was clean and comfortable and the leisure facilities were excellent.

The golf courses were also in excellent condition, especially the greens. The Nicklaus Course is superb and some of the holes are truly stunning. It is a stern test of golf and I would play it totally differently when I go back. It is more of plotting your way round type of course and at times frustrated me, but that was from not knowing the course. It is a tough walk, but I did not see the benefit of a buggy as they have to stick to the cart paths on the Nicklaus course.

We were lucky to have fantastic weather but I would love to go back as the whole experience was superb.

St Mellion is a resort which we have wanted to try out for a few years. Now having now spent a weekend there, playing both courses during our stay, we were not disappointed. What a great venue!

It's well sign posted, so easy to find, the rooms are very clean and extremely comfortable, the staff at the venue are very friendly and helpful and the golf courses themselves are very well maintained and a good challenge to all levels of golfer. I would recommend buggies though as it is a very hilly course.

Food and drink is of a very good standard and at a reasonable price too.

Yourgolftravel sorted out the weekend for us and did a great job. We will be back. 10/10

Sorry, your filter options returned no results.
She is okay Only played 9 holes
Great golf course
Hardest course I’ve played. Condition of the course and greens was first class. Round was slow but this because we had buggies. If you can walk the course then do so as will speed up your round. Loved it.
Course was in superb condition with fast greens, could not fault it.
Fairways and greens in excellent condition. A real pleasure to play the course.
A real test of golf. Narrow fairways, plenty of bunkers, water and trees with difficult greens. Course was in excellent condition as there was a big competition the previous week.
very slow, 5.5 hours. Course as tough as I remembered, take lots of spare balls! Preparing for a challenge tour event so greens and tees were being protected which diluted our enjoyment slightly.
Truelly Terrifying!!!
Lovely interesting course, I won so ........
Difficult, a buggy next time xx
Nothing like it's sister course, quite plain in comparison. Seemed everyone was on the course the day we played and waited at least 5 minutes on each hole which made the round ultra long.
The most beautiful course I have played on with views all around. Unless you are super fit, use a buggy as this course is very up and down. Lovely and will play again.
Pin positions were too hard for high handicap golfers as it was club champ weekend
Fabulous golf course Everybody said it was one of the best golf courses that they have ever played The whole place was brilliant thanks St Mellion
Great golf course because I shot 2 over off 9 handicap 😂 Everybody loved the course great condition
Better suited to lower handicap player's, however as a 22 handicap player it was a great challenge and thougrouly enjoyable. Stunning course!
Very nice and interesting course. Ideal for high and low handicap player's. Much better than I had anticipated.
If it’s your first time then there are a few holes where you wonder what and where to hit. That said, the others it’s all in front of you. Quick greens and some outstanding par 3’s. First two holes give you a chance of birdie and then it starts to bite back. Overall, a good challenge. Course was very slow (5.5 hours) and on a very hot day it was a wee bit disappointing that there was no drinks buggy as we all ran out of water. Halfway hut is vending machines that had no water in them.
Greens were slick. Flat tee boxes and good grassy fairways. The back nine is weird and feels like it’s a bit of an afterthought. I mean, a few 220 yard par 4’s?
Very difficult course, very narrow fairways. Stunning views.
It is a beautiful good course with stunning views
Overall a great course. Only issue I have is that the bunkers had barely any sand in, so didn't feel like a bunker.
My real concern here is that I paid an awful lot of money for this golf trip (it turns out that I actually paid more for a 3 night trip to St Mellion than any member pays for their annual membership) and my friend and I were given the very first tee time after a ladies competition. As i'm spending that much money, it would be nice to be looked after, given a better time where it wouldn't take over 5 hours to play a round of golf.
Among the most difficult courses a golfer could play! Every hole makes you think. Bring plenty of balls and take a cart!
The course was great no delays several memorable holes. Course signage and directions could be improved!
Golf deal should come with free buggies at £36 a pop its a bit pricey and all societies had free buggies
medium rough is to long for high handicappers = lazy course upkeep would not go again
Good condition and round in just under 4 hours
Course had been set up for a Pro Tour competition so greens and pin positions difficult but good condition
We was fortunate that this course had been prepared for a recent tournament and we had the luxury of playing this after. Every hole was different and memorable. Lovely finishing hole in front of the clubhouse. Very picturesque tree lined course. Would highly recommend.
Most enjoyable course, many attractive holes with some more challenging, a delight.
Course of 2 halves, front 9 gentle, back 9 more challenging but very good overall.
The men in our party loved going back to St Mellion and playing the Nicklaus course both times! They said the course was great !
Greens had just been treated
Greens had just been treated
The course was in good condition considering the weather of late. It was varied and interesting but rather long for a standard lady's game. All the group of ladies loved it though and would like to return
Having had such a lot of rain the course was a little boggy in parts and the greens were being prepared for the season. But overall good condition. It was a varied and interesting course.
5 1/2 round. Mix of buggies and people carrying. Lots of looking for balls from the group ahead. Lots of standing around with groups behind catching up.
Good course. Not overly challenging. Good for any ability golfer
very hard course, beautiful course. good test of your golfing skills
the course was beautiful, the time of year we visited would be the reason for a couple of the greeens slightly patchy. very very good course though
Very difficult course but enjoyed it. Greens quick despite heavy rainfall before we played.
Course conditions were fantastic considering the time of year, for the average handicap golf the course has a lot more room on fairways and greens but still challenging. Really enjoyed our experience.
Apart from the eye watering nearly 6 hour round of golf which didn’t allow anyone us to get into a rhythm, The course was fairly difficult for the average handicap golfer but we expected that and really enjoyed the experience, greens were fantastic and really fast compared to our club greens, Would love to play it again now we know where we were going. Signage on the course was not great. Disappointed the pro shop and vending machines were still using plastic bottles.
Once off the fairways you’ve had it ! But a great golf experience.
Great course a real credit . You need a A game which I didnt have ha
One of the most athletically pleasing course I've ever played and I'm up over 150 now, superb use of the streams, hills, and what vision in designing this course. It is no way an easy course and although I was an average of 9 shots worse than my 7 handicap I really loved the course, it's very tight, every hole has its own challenge and with no 2 feeling samey in any way, despite the wet weather the course held up well, greens were still running well despite the usage. Wish it was closer as it would really improve my game, plus help me keep the ball in play. The rough is penal, lots of streams and rises.... You won't regret playing here...take some balls, although I only lost 1 in 2 rounds but had taken 30! Definitely needs a better range with targets and flags etc...not just 1 of each!
Probably a bit beyond our golfing competence, but enjoyable nonetheless.
thoroughly enjoyed it, especially second time round.
Beautiful course. One of the best I've played
Great course plenty of testing holes but ok if. !!! you can keep it straight.
Good course very quick greens good value.
Great course, very pretty and something for everyone, most enjoyable.
Really enjoyed it
Quite hilly and some lengthy walks from green to tee, so worth considering the use of a buggy.
Lovely course, lots of Golfers so very slow but still a good time
Brilliant course. So tough. Very challenging. Greens amazing. Scenery brilliant too. Take lots of balls
Wow! Phenomenal course but very hard and unforgiving on the front 9. Absolutely beautiful scenery and holes. Buggies have to stick to paths which is an issue when you have to walk to try and find your ball. I play roughly off 18 and I found it really tough. I would recommend the Kernow if you’re around my handicap. Great experience though.
Amazing course. Beautiful scenery and best suited to higher handicap players. More forgiving. Buggies drive on course not just paths so can drive straight to ball. 10/10
Great course. Front 9 feels really tight with little room for error. Things get a bit more forgiving on the back 9 and it showed in my scores… Greens were fantastic, the ball runs true every time and makes me realise how poor the greens are on the courses I play week in week out. Got a round of applause for my shot into the 18th green which flew the lake, pitched next to the pin and stopped… which was nice!
Great course, it can be tricky if you’re not on your game but if you are it’s very enjoyable. Lovely true greens. My only irritation was when one of the marshals asked to speak to the organiser, he approached me flanked by two colleagues as if about to solemnly inform me of a death in the family. Instead, the issue at hand was a single pocket on the side of the shorts of one of our 16 players. Bit ott frankly, golf desperately needs to let little things like this go - which he did in this instance to be fair but I could have done without the lecture, I’m not responsible for what my group wears.
Great venue but very difficult even for a single figure handicapper.
A very good above average course.
Top 10 courses for me
One of the hardest courses we have ever played. Beautiful design and views
The course was in excellent condition. Unfortunately one slow 4 ball made our first four holes very slow indeed. At one time there were 12 of us on the tee. The course is difficult but very dooable
A really good golf course. Very challenging. Clearly, this is where all the money at St Mellion is spent… Again, nowhere to buy a halfway beer, except in the clubhouse bar… This course is definitely worth playing, but the rest of the resort lacks the quality and panache to justify the spend and 5 hour journey… Pleased to have ticked it off my list.
Fairly simple course. I’m a 24hcp and my home course is quite challenging. I shot 15over (par 70 I shot gross 85). Back 9 very short, almost as if it was squeezed in, to complete 18 holes… Nowhere to buy a halfway beer, except in the club house, where there are huge queues at the bar.
Can’t go wrong, superb layout very well presented. As with Kernow only negative is lack of a proper halfway house.
Great course, well presented. Would benefit from a Halfway House not a vending machine.
Very beautiful course, very well maintained, credit to the grounds keepers. Difficult, but still well worth it.
Stunning course and very well looked after
Perfect little course to give you a break from the tough nicklaus course, much easier and smaller but still enjoyed it.
Stunning course, great challenge
A little short but a welcome relief from the Nicklaus!
Brilliant as always
We played the course twice - walking with a power caddy and riding a buggy. It was very hot both days. The first day we were stuck behind a seniors match and we took 5 hours!! The next day we took 3 hours 20 minutes. I wouldn’t recommend walking as there are long walks between holes.
Another great course, more 'normal' than it's big brother, but still a good test with interesting holes and a nice level of challenge.
Still one of my favourite courses I've ever played, as well probably the most difficult!
Before we went everyone said it was a great course and it was absolutely amazing carnt wait to return
Great course, lots of blind shots , but a Great test of golf ⛳ excellent overall

Very scenic with challenging water hazards. A good time to play after taking on the Nicklaus course. You
Beautiful layout, and views over the area. Some very challenging holes as you would expect from a course of this quality.
Very very hard course if you dont hit straight. The conditions were superb. The 5th hole is truly incredible. Superb golf venue. Would definitely recommend but maybe a bit too far to return for a 2nd time.
Got rained off after 7 holes but was fantastic for the 7 holes. We tried to play the back 9 the following morning but the course was shut due to bad weather which was a shame.
A god test of your golf. Tight drives and long in places what you would expect from a championship course
Nice course makes you think about your shots
Had a great time!
Had fun
Had a few slow players in front and just hollow timed greens. Course looks tired had to much play on it.
Very good course but I think it has had a bit to much play
another nice course, not as testing as the nicklaus but by no means easy !
great course, although a really tough test. a little wet in places but it is october, will be back to play again hopefully with some straighter shots !.
A tough challenging course for mid handicappers
Had a good round, good course design and green conditions and lots of interesting holes.
as you can imagine very hard course. some long walks from greens to tees. I'm 61 and found it a hard and long course..but you have to give it a go. it's a brilliant course to play
very pictures and in good condition. good par 3s
This is a wonderful course to play. Its the third time of playing this one and never learn to stick to a game plan. You will get punished for wayward tee shots but the experience on playing such a course will leave you wanting to play it again.
You will find this course very intresting with a mixture of easy and harder holes to play.
Lovely course! Some amazing holes. Definitely recommend a buggy
Nice course . Only downfall green-keepers on the side off a couple off greens revving there machines
I booked this course for the 2nd day of my trip but upon arrival was told I was playing this the first day after I reserved this tee time and booking 6 weeks ago... so I was told I was playing the Nicolas the first day at 11:52 and the kernow the 2nd day at 12:52 When I actually booked the kernow the first day at 11:30 and the Nicolas the 2nd day at 12:30... The hotel staff and accommodation was fine no problems at all. But the service I received in the pro shop was beyond what I imagined and has left a bad taste in my mouth for returning to what is a great course and hotel but very poor staff in the pro shop...
I had a very unpleasant experience with this, the staff in the pro shop were very unwelcoming and very rude, bad attitude and not what I expected for a place like this.
Very good course with some great holes - first 6 were a real challenge in the wind and rain and 18 was great with some other good holes thrown in.
Good for what it was - a second track at a resort. Back nine is a bit silly with 4 drivable par 4s including one that was only 220 yards. Is that really a par 4? I guess they want the overall par to be 70 and not 68 or 69!
Excellent time on course challenging but very playable. Lovely to have toilet facilities on course. Very friendly starters
First day was frustrating due to badly allocated tee times behind a roll up Academy . As a two ball should have been informed and given the choice to go out before . However 2nd round on third day was fine
What a course - a ‘must’ play for serious golfers. Course testing but as a lady golfer never felt out of my depth, finished with a par on 18th - smile still on my face! Cannot wait to play in warmer weather- fabulous two days of golf!
Considering the rain we had the course was in good condition- loved it, will be back! Pro’s very helpful and friendly.
This golf course will test any standard of player. Shoot your handicap and your doing well
Outstanding course, the views were terrific and the fairways are narrow, plenty of water to contend with. Play within yourself and you will score I was told- never a truer word spoken. Only criticism I have is there are no water taps on the way round and the 1/2 way house is a vending machine. It should be staffed as it's a testing course physically too.
Excellent course, we played it twice sandwiched by the Nicklaus course. The Kenrow is a fantastic playable course and you can score well being conservative off the tee.
A relief from the Nicklaus but still an enjoyable experience. Having taken over the booking from Nigel, the offers were somewhat confusing. We had 50% off buggies which we did not use, and free range balls, not always available on the range. Under the impression there was money towards drinks. Ken Ampleford kdample83@gmail.com
We wanted to play the Nicklaus course twice, ad as a group glad we did. Difficult course but a gem
This was a challenge for us,however very Nice to play.
Realy great. Beautiful lay out and the course was Good in shape
My husband and son played both courses and were very pleased with both
Did not play the courses but husband and son were very pleased with both.
Loved the more relaxed course, great end to their weekend.
They loved the challenge, took them 4 hrs!!
Fantastic course , probably better than the 2010 at Celtic manor , loved it
Great round , exceeded our expectations , thoroughly enjoyed it despite the rain on the 3rd day
Just a fantastic experience
It was slow going following a number of 4 balls which didn’t help get any rhythm. Course was great considering the wet weather. Brakes on the buggy were a challenge on some of the very steep gradients
Sensible challenge for the mid handicapper
Very enjoyable
The Nicklaus calls for long straight hitting on every shot. I still feel that the yellow tees on the 5th hole should be at the very front of the tee box as it is an intimidating long carry over water.
The condition of the Kernow has improved in the last 2 years and all of us enjoyed the scenery and the challenge. Par 3s are really good and testing.
My wife and I played the Nicklaus Course once. The course is very pretty and picturesque with many changes in elevations and water on a number of holes. The fairways are quite narrow and the rough is fairly long requiring a very straight tee shot to be in with a chance of a par. This made it very challenging and a never to be forgotten experience. We plan to try again next year.
My wife and I played the Kernow Course twice. The course is undulating with water on a few holes, fairways are reasonably wide and the rough not too long, so made it an enjoyable experience that was not too challenging.
Fantastic golf course, stunning views, we walked which is ok but between greens and the next Tee area is very hilly.
Great golf course, not to long lots of blind Tee shots, Greens were fantastic.
The fairways are tight and the greens are small! Accuracy is the key and avoid the bunkers at all costs! Again, can't wait to go back and improve the score.
The fairways are wide and the greens are huge, but don't be fooled - this is a challenge. The rough is punishing and the fairways slope. The greens are fast and undulating with interesting pin positions. Want to go back to improve my score.
Same comments as the other course. Would like to add that the staff in the golf shop were friendly knowledgeable and very helpful
Loved the course very fair test. Greens were all the same speed and in nice shape. Course is in good shape. Could do with a little more signage to the next tee from the greens
Great course and some beautiful holes 11,12 and 13 is a special little stretch. Really great fun and would recommend to all.
Wow, what a stunning course. One of the best I have ever played. Being an avid follower of Mark Crossfield and 'The Muppets' I had been looking forward to playing it for ages. Really enjoyed playing the course despite playing during 'Storm Gareth' which made it even more challenging. Loved it. We will definitely be back.
A great course with a good variety of holes. The first time we played there were no flags in the holes on some of the greens which we understand from the Windy conditions but it would have good to have been told as we did not know where we were going some of the time. Just a printed course planner would have been helpful. We followed behind a competition on the Saturday which was frustratingly slow.
A lot of members was playing the course so was a bit slow but it did not bother me. a lot of fantastic holes on the course especially the 10th
The course is probably the hardest I've played on in Britain
