Golf Courses at Morgado Golf & Country Club
There are two phenomenal golf courses on-site here and neither will disappoint. An added attraction is the Algarve's largest golf academy is on-site with a large range and indoor studios, enabling you to improve your game while you are staying here .
HOST OF THE 2017 OPEN DE PORTUGAL
In recent years Morgado Golf and Country Club has been seen as one of the top golf courses in Portugal. This year it hosts its inaugural European Tour event as the Open de Portugal makes its long awaited comeback to the Tour Calendar after being absent for 7 years. The tournament was first played in 1953 and became a part of the European Tour schedule in 1973. Since then it has been played on some of the best courses in Portugal subsequently adding Morgado Golf and Country Club to that esteemed list. Making it a must play for any golfer travelling to Portugal.
From the 11th to the 14th of May 2017 some of the European Tour’s best players will be vying for the win but who has previously held the coveted trophy?
The 2018 Ryder Cup Captain Thomas Bjorn was the tournaments last winner in 2010 when it was played at Penha Longa Golf Club. Bjorn is not the only Ryder Cup captain to have his name on the Open de Portugal trophy, back in 1989 Colin Montgomerie won by the tournament's largest winning margin of 11 shots.
Morgado do Reguengo
This is a relatively mature feeling course thanks to the great many olive trees around the course, and that has added to the aesthetic beauty of the natural surroundings, which are dominated by the imposing Monchique mountains. Golfers of all abilities will love Morgado do Reguengo as it has been built with multiple tees; although it measures a mighty 7,300 yards from the tips.

The 18th is a fantastic finishing hole, with an elevated tee overlooking a wavy fairway and the clubhouse in the distance. A great way to end your round.
Alamos
This 6,600 yard course is relatively open from the tee, but its large greens are extremely tricky. The enormous putting surfaces are noted for their severe slopes, and are guarded by treacherous bunkers. The raised greens play havoc with club selection, while Alamos is also punctuated with a number of hazardous water features; in fact, the course is formulated around three large lakes, which provide both excitement and aesthetic beauty. Alamos has received much praise in its short time on the Algarve, and is a real pleasure to enjoy during a holiday in this golfing paradise.

Salgados
This wonderful 6,649 yard layout has been sympathetically built into a protected wildlife area, where many rare bird species make their home. Salgados has a tremendous variety of holes, ensuring that it is an intriguing test for golfers of all abilities. The layout has, in fact, a distinct links feel to it, but it features an intricate network of lakes and streams. Along with the 13th, the signature hole is arguably the first, where there is no easy opening - golfers must thread the ball onto a fairway bordered on both sides by threatening water features.
